Highclere is one of England's most beautiful Victorian Castles set amidst 1,000 acres of spectacular Parkland.
The Carnarvon family has lived at Highclere since 1679, although records show the Castle itself stands on the site of an earlier house, which in turn was built on the foundations of the medieval palace owned by the Bishops of Winchester.
A "Monks' Garden", south east of the Castle, is so named because this was where the monks used to grow their fruit trees and vegetables. It is now a walled garden with roses, quinces, figs and lavender.
We are delighted to be able to offer our unique home to the public, companies and romantic couples looking for a wedding venue who feel that the Castle and its beautiful grounds are suitable for their own special requirements.
Indeed, for as long as we can recall, the Castle has been full of interesting people from many parts of the world and is renowned for its warm welcome and hospitality.
Our family is closely involved with the smooth running of events at Highclere to ensure the success of each occasion large and small.
We, the family and all our staff greatly look forward to welcoming you, or your company, to the Castle.
